Friday night Chris and I tried giving her some canned tuna because we had no wet cat food in the house to give her. She went after that tuna like she had never seen food before in her life! On Saturday I called the vet's office and told them that I wasn't going to drag her back out in the cold because she was eating on her own. We picked up some cans of wet cat food and have been feeding her that ever since. I think it's going to take her a little time to realize that she can eat dry food without the pain she must have had before. At this point we don't really care what she eats, as long as she's eating something.
There has been a definite improvement in her behavior this weekend. She has gone from being a cat that wouldn't leave her little nest of blankets to one who roams the house and meows every once in awhile. Just a minute ago I watched her jump up on the back of the couch where she likes to hang out during the day. It's quite a relief to see her recovering.
