Sleeping Babies

Samantha:Hailey;
Those girls love their little seahorses!

Remember me?

Catch up time!
So, after my last post, we spent about 6 months getting ready for Hailey's arrival. She was born on October 26, 2011.
She's been a great baby since the very beginning. Most of the time she's happy. She started sleeping through the night around 6 months all on her own. Even teething hasn't really seemed to upset her too much.

Right before Christmas Chris decided that he just absolutely had to get a new dog. A lab, of course, so it can be his hunting dog. This I do not entirely understand, seeing as you don't take dogs deer hunting, and he rarely goes duck or goose hunting...
Anyway, we got a chocolate (nearly black) lab and named him Mojo. Let's just say that Chris and Samantha love him, so I have decided to let him stay, for now.

Back in April of this year Chris left his job at Wayne Engineering and started working for Magnys. In a nutshell, they do contract work for John Deere. So, he's in the door and working at a John Deere plant every day, but he doesn't officially work for JD. He does a lot of work with Auto Cad, and he really is much happier with this job than he was at Wayne. Win for everyone (except Wayne, they lost a pretty awesome guy).

Samantha is 3 1/2 now, and will be starting preschool in the fall. She'll be going to a place called Farmstead Preschool. They have standard preschool curriculum that they cover, but they also do hands on activities with the farm animals (take care of goats, ride a pony, watch chicks hatch in the spring). She and I went out there a couple of months ago for a tour, and now she's asking me all the time if it's fall yet so she can go to preschool. To say she can't wait would be an understatement.

I am still working at Prairie Lakes Church, but my job has done a bit of shifting over the past year. Last summer I transitioned from being the receptionist to the assistant to one of our pastors. I do a lot more administrative work now, and I get to help with things like our membership classes, baptisms, etc. I am still one of our part time receptionists, but that is more of a short term thing. Eventually I'll shift back to only the assistant/administrative work.

I think that pretty much catches things up. Here are a few pics of the girls, just because. :)
