New shoes at the park

A few months ago I picked up some cute little gym shoes for Samantha at a garage sale (can't beat $.50 for brand new shoes!)
She has already grown out of them, so Wednesday we went out and bought her a new pair. We let her pick them out too. The first pair she went for were silver and pink, super shiny, and way too big for her.
The second pair was sparkly, colorful, and the only shoe in the store that they had in her size! Perfect!

I felt like she needed some closed gym shoes to wear at the park because the rocks and bark chips always seem to get caught in her sandals.

It won't be long before she's playing at the park without us following 5 feet behind her. She's getting so independent, and it's a lot of fun to watch her exploring and figuring things out for herself.

Bathroom Renovations...

Last weekend was supposed to be a pretty relaxing weekend. Chris helped out with Bait Your Hook on Saturday morning. It was an event the Outdoorsmen group at our church put on so kids could get out and do some fishing.
In the afternoon I went and did some consignment shopping with my friend Christine and found some amazing deals.

As of Sunday morning we were planning on doing some housework, going for a bike ride, and just doing our best to enjoy the day. After Chris showered he decided to take Samantha to Ace Hardware and get some things to fix our leaky tub faucet. No big deal...or so we thought.

Turns out the leak was more deeply rooted than we dreamed. In order to fix the leak we needed to replace some of the pipes behind the tub wall.

Slowly the whole project began to escalate. After the left wall in the tub had been torn out we kicked around the idea of just ripping out the whole tub and getting that home improvement project done.

That decision led to debating replacing the window (and moving it over a few inches so it wasn't in the bathtub anymore, which was always a minor annoyance).

From there we've been trying to decide if we want to completely renovate the bathroom or just stop at the window and the tub. We're still on the fence, but I'm trying to push us over to the side where we end up with a new bathroom.

Of course, Samantha has been helping the best way she knows how, playing with her toys and watching Baby Einstein. :)
