It's incredible to look back and see how much she's grown and changed over a year. She's gotten to be so independent and intelligent (to the point of being too smart for her own good!) that it seems like she can't possibly be the same kid.
She loves to watch Baby Einstein so much that if you even say the words Baby Einstein she'll go to the TV and pitch a fit if you don't put a dvd on. Thankfully we've wised up to that and we don't even mention the B.E. words unless we're going to let her watch it.
She loves dogs and cats more than just about anything in her little world. If she sees a dog on TV, in a book, or in real life she gets the biggest grin on her little face and talks gibberish to it. When she sees either one of our cats it sounds like she says 'key', which I think is her attempt at 'kitty'.
We're trying to expand her food horizons, but we still fail miserably at getting her to eat any kind of green vegetable. Occasionally we can sneak something in, but only if she can't see it. Still patiently waiting for that stage to end...
Sometimes she races us to the stairs if we leave the gate open, but now instead of trying to climb them she'll push the gate closed. Yes, it's the gate at the bottom of the stairs. We aren't letting her get to the top of the stairs with an open gate. ;)
Milk is hands down her drink of choice. When she's sick we sometimes let her have a little bit of diluted apple juice, but on a day to day basis she gets milk and water. Just say the word milk around her and she'll march right to the refrigerator and wait (very impatiently, I might add) for you to open it and give her a sippy cup of milk.
There are so many little things I could tell you about her, but it'll have to wait for another day.
I leave you with these pictures of our ever changing little monkey.
