5k and Eating

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty incredible day. When we first woke up it was overcast, which turned into a thunderstorm, and I was starting to reconsider my decision to register for the 5k that was taking place in town at 9:00. After a crazy flash of lightning (which we still think hit something in our neighborhood) the storm died down and the weather started to clear up.
I went ahead and ran/walked my 5k and finished in 42 minutes. Yep, I'm pretty pathetic, but I didn't get much time to 'train' for this 5k so I ran what I could without hurting myself. Hopefully I'll cut that time way down with the next 5k I do.

In case you were wondering, nope, Samantha isn't wearing pants. And yes, I'm wearing Brad's t-shirt.
Last night we put Samantha in the nursery at church, like we always do, and prepared ourselves to see her number flash on the screen. It never did! She stayed in the nursery for the entire service!!!
When Chris went to the window to pick her up he said she ran across the room to him. After he picked her up she started her angry babbling chatter (picture the noises an angry monkey makes) and he was pretty sure she was scolding him for leaving her in there.
When we got home I fed her some mac & cheese for dinner. After a couple of bites she grabbed the fork and wanted to feed herself. I was hesitant at first, and then I decided it would be worth cleaning up the mess if she wanted to give it a try. She did awesome! I held her bowl while she stabbed the noodles with her fork. She even put half of the food in her mouth with the fork! The other half she took off the fork with her other hand and ate it that way. Of course, we ended up with a mess on the floor, but whatever.

I know she looks like she's blind in every single one of these pictures, but she isn't. The flash was just really bright.
