Dog on the run!

Last night Bandit was the lucky dog who got a bath and was allowed to sleep in our room with us. Our dogs get so dirty outside that it just isn't sanitary to let them upstairs if they haven't recently had a bath.
This morning Chris took her out in the front yard to let her do her business. Of course that just happened to be the moment a rabbit came out to take care of his own business, and Bandit was off! Chris said she tore out of the yard after that stupid animal and since she didn't have a collar or leash on there wasn't a darn thing he could do about it. We scoured the neighborhood for a good 20 minutes to half an hour looking for that dog. The entire time I was so afraid that we were going to see her on the road.
At one point I was driving down a nearby alley and I saw a black and white husky laying down in someone's yard. I hollered at it out the window and it stood up. I could have sworn for a few seconds that it was Bandit, but it turns out it was her long lost twin sister who we have seen a couple of times before on walks.
About 10 minutes after that false alarm Chris called and said he had found her. Apparently she ran across our street and two doors down into our neighbor's yard. Here we were searching blocks away when all along she was right next to home.
Oh yes, we definitely had another 'leash/collar' conversation after all this. I love starting my week hunting for my dog. It wakes you up better than coffee!
Here's Samantha Pants with her new noodle dinosaur toy. She used to have an orange noodle bug that looked like this:Then Bandit got ahold of it and chewed all its little arms off. I guess they don't make the bugs anymore, so the dinosaur will have to work. It has already become her new favorite toy.
